SUMMARY

The Data Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organization's connected data, enabling the organization to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of the organization's enterprise. This role requires deep understanding of data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our ministry achieve our goals
  • ​Understands modeling process, major groups of algorithmic techniques, and model testing techniques
  • ​Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
  • ​Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.
  • ​Understand platforms available and how they are used (e.g., Azure, Hadoop, Bluemix )
  • Perform tasks related to data ETL, data structuring and cleaning, and data pipeline creation
  • ​Understand rules on data, privacy and security, and can ensure quality of data
  • Integrate data from multiple sources

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Masters / PhD in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineeringpreferred
  • 1 year of experience working in data engineering or architecture rolerequired
  • 3+ years of experience working in data engineering or architecture rolepreferred

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • SQL and data analysis
