Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform a variety of Cardiology, Vascular and quality images for the interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed independent practitioner.
Essential Job Functions
Demonstrate critical thinking skills to accomplish tasks within the scope of Radiology practices.Provide professionalism and a positive behavior to all personnel.Compete assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation; demonstrate flexibility to adjust with the fluctuation in the workload.Maintains the standard of care while producing quality work for the general Radiology department, and the OR/Hybrid departments.Attends orientation and in-services for educational programs for Radiology, Image Wisely and Image Softly.Select and operate the imaging equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, safety and comfort.Verify patient information using 2 verifiers.Verify informed consent is documented.Participate in procedural timeouts as required by policy.Assists with procedures and applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.Maintains current information on equipment, materials and processes.Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.Recognizes signs and symptoms of an emergency and initiates BLS when necessary.Assesses patient risks for allergic reactions to contrast media prior to administration. Be able to assist in the initial treatment of its adverse effects associated to its administration.Evaluate images for technical quality, document patient dose exposures and communicate equipment malfunctions. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of theMaintain good standing with ARRT, state and federal regulations.Exercise HIPPA as we strive to protect the privacy of all patients.Verify pregnancy status and follow the protocol established by BSMH and Commonwealth Radiology.Adhere to the guidelines of QC/QA from the ACR.Takes call as required

Required Minimum Education:
2 Year/ Associates Degree
Licensing/ Certification - If registration, certification or licensure is required, include the name of the accrediting or licensing body.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program, and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Advance modality registration in Interventional Radiology preferred.
