In alignment with Bon Secours Mercy Health Foundation strategic initiatives and the Annual Programs strategy, the Senior Content Specialist will collaborate with Annual Programs leadership and staff to assist in executing a comprehensive institution-wide, multi-channel donor and prospective donor communications program. The Senior Content Specialist will collaborate with Annual Programs leaders to understand programs, needs and opportunities for strategic storytelling. The Senior Content Specialist will provide direction and oversight to the team of Content Specialists in sourcing, developing and adapting market-level and system-level content for a multi-channel communications plan for annual giving, using best practices to identify stories of impact and testimonials from the Foundation donor base. This position will manage and update the master content plan including leading monthly content brainstorming.

Essential Job Functions

  • In collaboration with Annual Programs leadership and as directed by Annual Programs content strategy and annual content plans, oversee the creation of content for annual giving, donor communications and all other identified audiences of the Foundation. •Collaborate with Annual Programs leaders to understand programs, needs and opportunities for strategic storytelling to assist in developing the master content plan.
  • Manage and update the master content plan and lead monthly content brainstorming sessions to prioritize content development and channel distribution.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the team of Content Specialists to coordinate sourcing story leads, story subjects and create content representing local market impacts and system-level impacts.  Responsible for sourcing patient/beneficiary impact stories and donor testimonials.
  • Using the Foundation’s brand voice and style, develop content for stewardship materials, appeals, email campaigns, social media, press releases, acknowledgment letters, videos and other communications.
  • Coordinate and oversee our freelance partners for interviews, photography and recording. Maintain freelance partner agreements.
  • Manage, organize and archive media releases for all story participants. Assist in adapting and editing content versioning for multiple communication channels. Organize and maintain a comprehensive content library, file naming conventions, and manage other digital assets.
  • Record testimonial participation as a constituent action in donor database when applicable.
  • Utilize our project management tools to curate projects for the system and local markets.
  • Coordinate with designers and website admin to generate consistent visual content.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelors/4-year degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with a proven track record in content development and understanding of effective storytelling
