Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The primary function of the Program Manager Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is to facilitate the governance, selection, and execution of RPA projects in order to achieve intended results.  The Program Manager leads a matrixed team of business and technical experts to support the translation and execution of requirements into well architected and documented RPA solutions that best leverage the enterprise RPA platform.  The Program Manager defines and ensures adherence to delivery process which focus on the lifecycle of managing RPA project scope, deliverables, and timelines using PMI Agile (DASM, DASSM, DAC and DAVSC) or similar industry standards for Agile methodologies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manages robotic process automation projects through the creation of project plans and/or management of backlogs through the Agile project management framework.

  • Ensures requirements are documented, traceable, and testable through to implementation.

  • Provides regular updates, escalates issues, and bridges the gap between technical, business, and leadership needs.

  • Manages work effort within defined time, budget, and scope.

  • Provides structure to manage ongoing support of RPA bots against ongoing changes to robotic process dependencies.

  • Communicateseffectively with all levels of staff to exchange information, ideas and answer inquiries.

  • Using BSMH’s change management policies and procedures, navigates the change management process for RPA deployments and changes.

  • Participates in departmental activities relating to employee engagement.

  • Maintains a relationship with I&T leaders and staff, facilitating sharing and implementation of lessons learned and best practices across BSMH.

  • Provides occasional after hours support when required.

  • Coordinates with third party integration and vendor resources as appropriate.

  • Facilitates governance sessions to review business cases for RPA, recommend automation use cases for implementation, define metrics and enable reporting on program effectiveness.

  • Evangelizes Robotic Process Automation within the ministry by working across functional groups to educate and promote the capabilities and efficiencies that can be achieved through automation.

5 years experience leading technology projects or implementation experience (required)
