Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist - PRN

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Assistant performs handles the receipt and processing of laboratory specimens. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to specimen processing, order entry, result look-up and report generation and specimen receiving and preparation. They answer phones and forward appropriate problems to proper area.

Essential Job Functions

• Enters orders

• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting

• Generates reports

• Provides basic customer service

Hours: 4am- 12:30pm, every other weekend. Additional hours available for pick-up to when coverage is needed.
