CT/Rad Technologist

PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform patient care duties involved in a variety of technical procedures and to apply ionizing radiation for a radiological diagnosis. Unregistered technologists are closely supervised by a registered staff.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have completed a 24 month approved radiologic technology program or

equivalent; registered with the American Registry of Radiographic Technologist (ARRT) or eligible

2. Basic computer knowledge

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

____ 1. Positions and handles patients with a high degree of safety and

professionalism.

____ 2. Controls a variety of complex equipment to apply ionizing radiation for

radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.

____ 3. Sets up and adjusts supportive and immobilization equipment and devices as required by individual cases.

____ 4. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards; sets up and adjusts radiation protective shielding and special screening required for maximum protection in accordance with appropriate report of National Council on Radiation Protection, relating to medical uses of ionizing radiation and appropriate state laws.
