Suffern

Suffern is one of the more urban village communities located in the Town of Ramapo, in Rockland County, New York, just north of New Jersey. Nestled alongside the Ramapo Mountains — a beautiful forested range of the Appalachian Mountains — Suffern boasts small neighborhoods, old-world charm, affordable housing, excellent schools, and walkable distances to main streets, small shops, restaurants and taverns. Nearby Bear Mountain State Park offers hiking, biking, cross-country ski trails, ski jumps and an outdoor ice-skating rink.

Located only 30 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan, Suffern is a pastoral paradise for its residents. New Jersey Transit, which operates the area's bus, light rail, and commuter rail services, connects Suffern residents to major commercial and employment centers in and outside of New York.
