management/supervisory

Recognizing that our employees are our most important resource, Bon Secours is committed to attracting and retaining the best talent and cultivating mission-driven leadership.

Organizations are often challenged with how to go about shaping mid-level managers and supervisors into tomorrow's senior leaders, an essential ingredient to building a world-class workforce and fulfilling Bon Secours' Mission to bring compassion to health care and Good Help to Those in Need®.

We don't just proclaim Values; we live them every day. We encourage leadership development and promote a shared leadership style of working together towards common, understood goals. Our leadership style is one of service, built on trust and the spirit and of Bon Secours in accordance with Operating Principles.

To cultivate today's talent to become tomorrow's leaders, we offer the Bon Secours Leadership Institute and the Center for Ministry Leadership as resources to engage and educate talented mid-levels to boldly and confidently lead and motivate their direct reports, and to help them create energetic environments that inspire confidence and stimulate optimism.

The Leadership Institute's Great START Good Help Course, a six-month learning experience, helps newly hired and promoted first-line leaders succeed, thrive, achieve, reach their goals and transition successfully into leading for good help. Four progressive courses follow: Foundations of Management: Interviewing, Selecting and Hiring; Foundations of Management: Leading Performance; Foundations of Management: Financial Management; and Facilitative Leadership.

Concurrently, the Center for Ministry Leadership — the resource for ministry formation — sponsors programs to empower competent and confident leaders through community building and relationship development. The first two levels of education target mid-levels. Level I introduces participants to Catholic health care traditions and the Charism of Bon Secours and enables them to tap their own faith traditions and spirituality in the work setting. Level II is a year-long experience, conducted with a community of 40 peers from around the health system, focused on the Foundations of Catholic Health Care Leadership, Biblical Foundations, Church and Sponsorship, Catholic Health Care as a Ministry, Catholic Social Teaching and Organizational Ethics. Mid-level managers and supervisors enjoy the benefits of being part of a world-class organization where employees are engaged and advancement opportunities abound.
