The award recognizes the best 5 percent of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence by HealthGrades, the leading independent healthcare ratings company providing ratings and profiles of hospitals, nursing homes and physicians. Awardees must have star ratings in at least 19 of 26 procedures and diagnoses using national Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) data for Medicare-covered inpatient discharges in the United States.
